Course Description:
This is a one-day course focusing on the core laparoscopic surgery skills and theoretical knowledge essential for many surgical disciplines. The course has been carefully designed to maximize hands-on experience and practice. In a safe, simulated environment, you will use a range of high-quality laparoscopic equipment, working with specifically designed benchtop models.
You will be taught basic laparoscopic principles including port positioning, tissue handling, instruments and devices, eye and hand coordination, laparoscopic suturing and tips and tricks in laparoscopic surgery. The course objectives are to provide basic knowledge required for safe use of laparoscopic surgery and improve your laparoscopic skills through hands-on sessions.
The Fundamentals in Laparoscopic Surgery Course is suitable for medical doctors with an interest in surgery, surgical trainees and surgical assistants. Following successful completion of the course, you will be awarded with 6 CPD points and will obtain a certificate of attendance.
This course is supported by: ELDO Pharmaceutical and SP Arrow Medical and is recognized by the Surgical Society of Cyprus and Cyprus Medical Association.
The EMAST will organize the Fundamentals in Laparoscopic Surgery Course every 2 months and the maximum number of participants is eight per course on a first comes first base.
